This movie was a masterclass in filmmaking. My younger brother is about to join the military, and when he was in the process of it we went to the movies and watch 1917 along with our mother. This scene was the most heavy of all of them. I couldn't sleep that night. Great acting, great messages and powerful storytelling, for this was the story of thousands of soldiers. My prayers to all of them, and all of you whom have family in the military. I have a lot of respect for those men.

Or maybe that was the point and I'm missing it. In any case, the cinematography was worth the price of admission alone. Compared to the other films up for Oscars, 1917 should be an easy win. It was full of drama and action, and paced in a strong way that The Academy likes. I wish it luck.

And Sam Mendez “Leman Trilogy”. Show his talents in the Theater also. Thomas Newman outdid himself as always, His scores are beautiful. I saw this movie yesterday, it is actually very good. 4:25 when schofield realizes the only way hes gonna get to the general to deliver the news in time, after everything hes been through, is to just get out of the crowd of people in the trench and fucking run for it. This was one of the most epic scenes Ive ever experienced.

Roger Deakins is a legend... This is one of the greatest movies I have ever seen. This deserves way more than just a lot of Oscar nominations. I mean, the second half was pour gold. When someone asks you what your favourite scene in 1917 is... This was the same guy that did the Finding Nemo soundtrack.

Jolly good show mates. Who else thinks this is a better movie than midway

I wont lie this scene got me in theaters

I feel the Pearl Harbor 20 years ago looked more realistic. He did it all for blake. I watched it today there so much action I loved it.
